The half-mile in is the whole point.

The drive off the main road runs about half a mile past cattle grazing in open pasture and whatever wildlife is out that day. By the time you reach your pad, the traffic is gone.

Established 2023 by Scott and Tonya Leatherman on their 112-acre tract, for RV owners who want somewhere to call home and campers who want a week or a weekend away.

“No lights from neighbors or sounds from traffic.”

One of the nicest parks I’ve been to. Nice paved road that sets you back 3/4 of a mile off the main road. Beautiful country setting. No lights from neighbors or sounds from traffic. Also, the spots are good level concrete pads with plenty of room.

The drive in

Pasture first, then the trees close in.

The paved road into Bull Run runs past spacious pastures with cattle grazing and wildlife of all sorts. Guests who have stayed say it is the reason the park is so quiet: you are well back from the main road, with forest around the sites.

Around the park

Trails in the hardwoods, a dock on the pond, a porch on the clubhouse

Campfires go in the designated fire rings, dogs stay on a leash, and the picnic shelters sit between the pads and the woods.

Monthly guests

One full-timer called it a gold mine for peace.

“I have traveled this country from coast to coast and lived in my camper for the last five years consecutively. This RV park has been a gold mine for peace and stability for me to stay in.”
Kurt Satter, Google review
“As a working travelling professional, I appreciated the quiet atmosphere of this RV park, the secludedness of the RV park from the main road and the forested area surrounding the park. I would highly recommend Bull Run RV Park to those seeking a long term stay.”

Yes. Up to two pets per site, cats and dogs only, kept on a leash. Bring their shot records when you check in.

Call the office before you reserve. The park looks at the condition of older rigs and can decline a site based on it.

Not yet. The one-acre spring-fed pond is not open for use at this time, and the park will post an update when it opens. The hiking and mountain bike trails are open.

The park is in Kings Mountain, in Cleveland County, right outside Charlotte and close to Gastonia. Catawba Two Kings Casino is about 8 minutes away and Crowders Mountain State Park is next door in Gaston County.

No generators. Quiet time runs from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM and the speed limit inside the park is 5 MPH, which is a big part of why guests say it is so quiet.
