Family owned, 100 Bull Run Drive

Scott and Tonya Leatherman’s RV park

Bull Run is, in their words, “a family owned Park.” Scott and Tonya Leatherman established it in 2023 on a 112-acre tract in Cleveland County, North Carolina, with a clear idea of who the park was for.

“A family owned Park,” made for people who would love to call it home.

That is the idea Scott and Tonya started with: a park meant as a community where RV owners and recreational campers would love to call home, or come to for a week or a weekend. Everything about the layout follows from it. Sites are level concrete with room between them, the utilities are county water and sewer, and the rules keep the place quiet enough that people choose to stay for months.

The first thing a guest drives is the road itself. In the owners’ description, the scenic half-mile drive into the park is populated with wildlife of various sorts and cattle grazing in spacious pastures. Past the pastures sit the pads, the clubhouse, a one-acre spring-fed pond with a covered dock, picnic shelters and the hiking and mountain biking trails.

The pond is not open for fishing yet. The park rules say so plainly and promise an update later, so check the park rules or call before you plan around it. The trails, the shelters and the fire rings are all available now, and the full list is on the amenities page.

“We are convinced once you have the opportunity to experience a stay at Bull Run you will want to stay and we invite you to do so.”

The park is in Kings Mountain, right outside Charlotte and near Gastonia, yet far enough back from the main road that guests describe the quiet. If you want to see what is close by, the attractions page lists the owners’ own picks, from Carowinds to Crowders Mountain State Park.
